Description
Our Calvados Fine is considered one of the best Calvados Fine available on the market. The production of this quality spirit is carried out using traditional methods of pressing and fermentation.
The apples are harvested from October to November, then washed and sorted by hand before being pressed. After pressing and alcoholic fermentation, the ciders are distilled in February and March.
This Calvados with a controlled designation of origin has aged for at least two years in oak barrels to give it structure, complexity and a sophisticated finish. On the palate, you will find a light woody structure in order to preserve the fresh apple as much as possible, the finish is characterised by a beautiful roundness. A fresh, young Calvados with aromas of green apple, to serve in cocktails or on ice.
This Calvados Fine is available in 70cl bottles and has a 40% alcohol content.
The terroir of our Calvados Fine
Our Calvados Fine is an artisanal product. More than 30 varieties of apples were needed, mainly bitter and bittersweet apples, typical of the Normandy region. They are harvested in October and November, washed, sorted by hand before being pressed. The extracted must then ferments in a vat for 4 or 5 weeks after pressing, before being quickly distilled in order to preserve the aromas of fresh fruit as much as possible.
The production of our Calvados Fine is entirely environmentally friendly.
Our recipes, patiently developed and closely guarded, is inspired by the cider served at Château de Sassy.
In collaboration with our cellar master, we have reworked these recipes to sublimate each flavour and offer a unique experience.
We aim for excellence, ensuring that each cider meets the demands of the finest palates, while remaining true to the Sassy family heritage.
At Maison Sassy, our commitment to nature is at the heart of every stage of production.
Our products come from sustainable agriculture, where respect for the Normandy terroir is a priority. We select our apples and pears from sustainably managed orchards, without the excessive use of pesticides, in order to preserve local biodiversity.
We are committed to donating 1% of our turnover to environmental organisations that work to protect our ecosystem.
By choosing SASSY, you are not only supporting a brand that values craftsmanship and quality, but also a company that places environmental preservation at the heart of its concerns. Each bottle contributes to funding initiatives aimed at restoring ecosystems, fighting climate change, and protecting biodiversity.
